SERVING
Serving in the name of Jesus is part of our mission statement. We welcome you to look thorough this list to find ways to serve within and outside the walls of our church.
Matthew 25:40 NIV - The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine you did for me.’

THE VILLAGE FOSTERS
Founded in 2021, The Village Fosters is an organization dedicated to loving and supporting Children. The group looks to plant chapters of TVF where support is offered through regular support meetings, sharing of information and best practices. We also partner with local restaurants and other businesses to provide meals and a few surprise gifts for our brave parents and children.
Meetings take place on Monday evenings from 5:30 -7:00 in our Family Life Center. www.thevillagefosters.org
FOOD FOR HALE JR. HIGH SCHOOL HOMELESS TEENS
Cash or food items in individual packages are generously given to be bagged for these homeless students. Food can be left in the food pantry drawer in the entrance of our church. A check can be made to YACC with notation for Hale Jr. High School.
DISCIPLES WOMEN’S OUTREACH
Volunteers reach out on many projects chosen each year. Some of these are Meals on Wheels, Disciples Village, Church Women United, Church World Service, Northeast area Disciples Women, United World Missions for Jeff Osborn (missionary from our church to Taveta, Kenya, East Africa), and YACC church family needs. When there is a special need volunteers are always ready to reach out. All women at YACC are invited to attend to Disciples Women meetings.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Each summer VBS reaches out to the church and the community with a Bible enriched program which includes a snack supper, singing, craft, science, and Bible stories. Volunteers are welcome to help with this ministry.
ANGEL TREE
Yale Avenue has always responded generously to the needs of the children on the tree.
Before Christmas one or more names of children are picked from our angel tree, and gifts are bought and then returned to the church to be given to the children who may not get a gift for Christmas.
CROP WALK
This activity is a Church World Service program that raises the awareness and funds for international and local hunger fighting programs.
BLESSING BOX
As part of YACC's community outreach, a free food pantry is available in the form of a Blessing Box located at the west end of the parking lot. As stated on the Blessing Box, “take what you need and leave what you can”. Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate in the Blessing Box whether giving or receiving.
