YACC Chancel Choir is your chance to let your voice be heard. We are a group of singers dedicated to using our voices to praise our God and to enhance the Sunday morning worship service. We sing a variety of music from quiet and worshipful to snazzy and jazzy. We participate in 3 to 4 Sunday worship services a month, occasionally a special service such as our annual Christmas Cantata and Christmas Eve service. It is not necessary that you read music IF you can hear a part and sing it on pitch. We are in desperate need of male voices, but we are always open to any voice range and would love for you to join us.
We operate on a two-semester schedule, with the first semester beginning mid-February and lasting through early June, and the second semester begins mid-September and runs through Christmas Eve. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings, generally from 7:00-8:00pm.

YACC Praise Ringers is a group of up to 12-14 musicians that have a bit more music knowledge (we currently have only 11 ringers and really need at least 1 more!). You will need to be able to read music a bit, but if you’ve had piano, voice, or instrument experience (even if it’s been a while ago) and are able to identify your assigned notes and have a basic understanding of time signatures and rhythms you will be fine. We have a lot of fun playing together and usually perform 2-4 times per year (except in the summer). This group also operates on a two-semester schedule and will take breaks on the same schedule as the choir. Anyone is welcome to come to a rehearsal to see if this is a group where you’d enjoy being a part. Rehearsals for this group are on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-6:55pm.

YACC currently has one Mens’ and two Ladies Trios. These groups are currently closed to additional voices. Small groups schedule rehearsal time on an as needed basis, outside of regular choir and bells rehearsal times and they generally perform 2-3 times a year. We are always open to and encourage small group participation. If you are interested in forming or joining a small group contact Worship/Music Director, Kim North to schedule a short audition (if not already involved in the music program at YACC).

If you would like to be included in the Soloists rotation (Vocal or Instrumental), you will need to rehearse mostly on your own time and arrange for an accompanist, as needed. You would likely be asked to perform 2-3 times/year. If interested please contact Worship/Music Director, Kim North to schedule a time for a short audition.

There are several times during a given year, when we need a substitute pianist (or organist) due to the regular Pianist being out. In the past we have had an accompanist come to fill in. If you are willing to substitute on either Piano or Organ once or twice a year, please contact Worship/Music Director, Kim North for a discussion. Be prepared to play a selected hymn to audition.
