Mike Albert has been our Senior Pastor since 1987. Here is just a bit of his excitement and vision for Yale Avenue Christian, "It continues to be my joy to be the pastor of this church family. I am excited about the steps we are taking to share God’s love and grace in the 21st century. We are adding to our ministries and changing to meet the needs of the Tulsa metropolitan area.

“If you are looking for a church that has a warm family atmosphere and that is excited about their relationship with God, this is the place to check out. If you are looking for the love of God to be expressed in a positive atmosphere, communicated in every day language, and celebrated through lively contemporary worship then you will want to come to our new contemporary worship service at 11:15 every Sunday morning. I do not believe that it is my task to give you black and white answers or a guaranteed formula of "success." I am committed to honestly addressing the issues we all face in life, to help people make sense out of the chaos of life, and to help people understand that God loves them and wants them to enjoy life. The people that make up our church family are "regular" people; all shapes, sizes and ages.”

Mike and his wife, Patti, were married in 1972. Patti is very involved in the music and youth ministries of our church. They have two children, Dustin, who is attending graduate school at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, NC; and Lindsey Schluckabier, who is attending graduate school at Drury University in Springfield, Mo.

Mike holds degrees from Manhattan Christian College and from Phillips Theological Seminary.

 OUR PASTOR’S MISSION STATEMENT

"My mission is to dream God’s dream, to inspire and lead others to catch God’s dream and together to create that vision so that my family and others might realize the joy of knowing, loving and serving God as a growing member of the Body of Christ."
