Daniel U’Ren has been our Associate Pastor since September 5^th, 2006.  Daniel’s passion for ministry focuses on the children of the church; however, to him this includes children of all ages beginning at birth and throughout adulthood.  “Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs” (Mark 10:14).  Daniel feels that the children are the church of today, and that we are all children of God.

Daniel’s wife Stephanie would testify that he makes it feel like there is sometimes a second child in the home in addition to their daughter Kiersten.  Though Daniel may have the heart of a child at times, his ministry to the church family is something dear to his heart.  “My goal is to live as an example of God’s love.”

Daniel previously served as Associate Minister at First Christian Church (DOC) in Woodward Oklahoma and Youth Minister at First Christian Church (DOC) in Emporia Kansas.  He obtained a Master’s of Divinity from Phillips Theological Seminary and was ordained August 7^th, 2005.  He obtained a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Special Education from Emporia State University.  He is also a veteran of the United States Army in which he served as a Medical Specialist stationed in Korea during Desert Storm.  Daniel was born and raised in Michigan.

Inevitably, someone always asks about the surname U’Ren.  The name is of English origin derived from the name Urien.  For those who follow Arthurian Legend, Sir Urien was a Welsh king and a knight of the round table.
